OK people:

This week is the final dinner, the last FWL night of the year.
The theme is op-shop, so hit up those Vinnies/Salvos shops, grab some old and funky stuff, and come along for a great night to finish off the year.
See you there: 7-9pm, Friday.

Heya.
This week at FWL we’re doing whatever you want to do, basically. We’ll have some ping pong, cards, board games, sport equipment. Come along, hang out, have fun, chat, etc. It’ll be great.
Next week, we’re going to the beach. You’ll need to grab a permission note – either get one from us tonight, or download one here. We’re going to be leaving church for the beach at 6pm.
Get that?
6pm.
If you’re late… well, you probably won’t be going to the beach. And that would be a shame.

Heya.
This week is going to be something a little different. It’s ‘Judge Judy’ night – which means we’re going to do some courtroom shenanigans.
If you want to do something before you get there, we’re going to be looking over the night at Psalm 51, and how God judges, so if you want to read it before Friday that would be cool.
Anyway, we’ll see you there. 7-9pm, Church hall.
- Sam.

This week: Chocolate.
Chocolate eating, chocolate games, chocolate night. Come prepared – don’t eat for the rest of the week.
Ok, that’s probably overdoing it.
See you Friday, 7pm.

Think about your favourite song for a moment.
What do the words say? What do they communicate?
They’re important, right? Usually, the lyrics are meaningful somehow. They tell you what the singer is thinking. They help you understand what they’re feeling.
That’s why we like listening to music – we have an emotional response to it.
And that’s why, this term, we’re looking at God’s songs. His song-book.
They’re called Psalms, and there’s a whole bunch of them in the middle of the Bible. Some of them are written by kings, some by professional musicians, and some… well, we don’t know who wrote some of them.
But they’re all about God in some way. And so we’re going to look at what’s important for these song-writers, and maybe compare what we find there to what we hear on the radio.

This Friday we’re making movies.
To say too much is to give things away, but in a group you’ll be making either a sit-com, a horror movie, or a music video clip, based on a topic that will be given to you on the night.
So come along with ideas for stuff you might want to do. Bring props. Write some gags for your sit-com. Practice your screams (for either the horror movie or the video clip, depending on your ability/inclination).
It will be a blast.-Sam.

So next week is a ‘Guys and Girls night’. This means we’re splitting up, and doing something blokey/girly as appropriate.
What do you think qualifies as either blokey or girly? Makeovers? Playstation/Xbox? Rugby? Watching ‘Sleepless in Seattle’?
Leave your suggestions in the comments.

Lights. Camera. Action.
Yes, folks, it’s talent quest time this week. Sharpen your vocal chords, crack out the dancing shoes, and dazzle us.
If you don’t come prepared with an act, don’t worry – we’ll get some stuff worked out on the night. It will be great. I’m particularly looking forward to “Death by…” – come along to find out.
See you there. With bells. Lots of them.
-Sam.
P.S. Knox boys, I’m expecting some Guys and Dolls renditions.
